Assistance League of Sacramento, American Cancer Society and St. Vincent de Paul have come together to sponsor a “Thrift Shop Hop” to acquaint consumers with the value of shopping nonprofit thrift and resale stores.

The “Thrift Shop Hop” will take place on September 17, 2016 starting at 10:00 am. Shoppers will be rewarded with store discounts along with a chance to win great prizes. Customers who visit and make a purchase at all three stores will be entered in drawings for gift certificates from each store.

Did you know . . . Resale has continued to be strong even during tough economic times and is one of the fastest growing segments of retail. According to the National Association of Resale and Thrift Shops “there are currently more than 25,000 resale, consignment and Not For Profit resale shops in the United States. The resale market is blossoming thanks to value-conscious consumers. With an increasing awareness of the importance of reducing pointless waste, we are progressing from a disposable society to a recycling society.”

This local September 17 event focuses on this thriving segment of retail in the Arden-Arcade business community.
